AGO Calendar
The AGO Calendar lists many musical events including organ recitals, choral
concerts, chamber music and other concerts, festival
services, workshops, even silent films with organ accompaniment, in the Long Beach, Los Angeles, and
Orange County areas. Most of these events are open to the public, and many
are free of charge. Events sponsored or cosponsored by the American Guild
of Organists or its local chapters are marked
[AGO].
While the current month's
calendar is included with chapter
newsletters, this online edition includes
all future events that have been submitted, and contains active links to
websites. The online AGO Calendar is updated around the beginning and
middle of each month with new listings and changes, so
please check regularly.
Listings are subject to change; for the most current information about
an event, check with the sponsoring organization.

Guidelines for Calendar Listings
Calendar items from members of the Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Orange
County AGO chapters should be sent to the
calendar editor,
Vincent Verga. For the newsletter calendar, deadline is the 15th of the month preceding the event
month.
However, since there are months when we may not publish a newsletter
and calendar, it is best to submit listings as early as possible, so they can be included in
an earlier issue. The online calendar is updated around the
beginning and middle of each month.
Please include:
- Date and time
- Performer, or group and conductor
- Event title, or major work or composers
- Venue, street address, city, ZIP code
- Website and/or telephone number for more information
- Admission policy (one of the following):
Ticket price or suggested donation amount, or
Freewill offering, or
Free
Listings are placed in the calendar at the editor's discretion, and are
edited for format and style. Because of space limitations, we normally do NOT
include the following, which you might wish to promote on your website:
- Parking information
- Reception information
- Series ticket information
- Organ information, except for the inaugural recital of a new or
renovated instrument
- Programs taking place outside the calendar's coverage area
- Programs that would not be of interest to AGO members or that would
appeal mainly to your own congregation
Remember to notify us of any changes for events previously submitted.
The AGO Calendar is a proprietary production of the Los Angeles
Chapter, American Guild of Organists and is supplied to
participating AGO chapters at no cost.
