The Los Angeles Chapter administers a number of funds and programs that provide scholarships or prizes under certain conditions.

Study Grant Program

The Study Grant Program is open to organ students as well as piano students who are interested in studying organ.  Full information is contained in the guidelines below.  Click the links to view the program documents in PDF format.

All Saints Church, Pasadena

Martha Farr/Hunter Mead Scholarship Fund

This fund was established by the former Pasadena Chapter.  It provides a prize for a biennial organ playing competition open to all undergraduate college students. This competition takes place in even-numbered years.
 

Dr. and Mrs. Richard Keys Biggs Scholarship Fund

This fund was established by the Biggs family in memory of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Keys Biggs. It is used for the education of young organists.
 

David Lennox Smith Memorial Fund

This fund was established in memory of David Lennox Smith in 1979 by the former Pasadena Chapter.  It provides a cash prize for the chapter-level winner of the AGO/Quimby Regional Competition for Young Organists (RCYO), held in odd-numbered years.  The purpose of the RCYO is to encourage younger organists to pursue excellence, to gain performance experience, and to receive recognition for their achievements.  This competition begins at the chapter level and concludes at the nine regional conventions.  The winner of each regional competition is invited to perform at the next national convention.
